McCain Pressured to Choose Romney
Written by Sam on May 31st, 2008Political donors report Sen. John McCain complains he is under pressure from President Bush and his former political adviser Karl Rove to select former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as his vice presidential running mate.Since losing to McCain in the Republican primaries, Romney has become a strong supporter and helper of the presumptive nominee. During their contest, McCain indicated his dislike for Romney.
I am already opposed to Romney anyway, but if Bush wants him that only solidifies my position even more. You can’t trust Romney on any issue because he has changed his mind on just about everything in the past three years and you definitely can’t trust George Bush.

Why does anyone listen to Bush anymore? If it was up to me, I would choose someone who Bush cannot stand as my VP choice just to distance myself from the loser.

Well, I like Romney, but Mark Sanford is my first choice. I happen to think Romney’s change of heart is genuine. Maybe I’m naive.

P.S. I also really like Paul Ryan, Congressman from Wisconsin, especially after he was so out-in-front opposing the Farm Bill.

I think Romney’s a pretty good choice for McCain. You can’t complain about a runningmate that will guarantee you two swing states.
