Sen. DeMint Heading Up ‘Senate Conservative Fund’ PAC

Written by YellowJacket on June 17th, 2008

This is an excellent development in the fight of conservatives to retake the GOP and re-establish it as a truly conservative party.  I have always been a big fan of Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina, Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Sen. Inhofe of Oklahoma, and several other Senators (and quite a few Congressmen) who are reliable conservatives even in the wake of the K Street Project, “Compassionate Conservatism,” and the GOP losing its track from the historic 1994 Contract With America takeover of Congress.  You can watch Sen. DeMint’s introductory video on this here.

There are already several of these organizations pushing for true conservative policies; these include groups such as the Club For Growth, the conservative blogosphere, the CATO Institute, the Heritage Foundation, the recently formed Conservatives for the Advancement of the Reagan Coalition (formed by former FredHeads), and many others.

There are also a few of these groups within Congress.  Of course there is the Republican Study Committee in the House, led by rock-solid Rep. Jeb Hensarling (formerly by another great conservative, and Party Leader nominee, Mike Pence, and formerly John Shadegg I believe).  In the Senate, also led by Sen. DeMint, is the Republican Steering Committee.  In recent months a bicameral group, Reagan21, was formed that includes many of the conservative rockstars we gloat about so often on this and many other blogs, which took an early initiative in really pushing hard against earmarking along with the Club for Growth.

This Senate Conservative Fund PAC is another great addition to our roster of citizen advocacy groups, PACs, research institutes, and now even more actual governmental groups pushing for conservative principles in our national government.  Along with the Club for Growth, which recommends stellar economically conservative candidates in primary and general races throughout the country, this provides another mechanism for conservatives to channel money to the right candidates who can help push the Republican Party in the right direction.

A great idea. I refuse to contribute to the RNC and changed registration to Independent to avoid pestering by leftwing Republicans who lost control of Congress and are poised to lose White House either way

Go for it Senator DeMint. I too will not contribute to any Republican Committee fund raisers. Particularly, any that would aid Sen. Graham. He is adamant in his enforcing laws dealing with Illegal combatants at Gitmo but not as adamant when it comes to enforcing our illegal immigration laws. He is a true “RINO”. I will be sending a donation to support this effort by our Sen. DeMint- he is a leader and Graham is a follower.

My wife and I are very anxious to support true conservatives. I am a registered democrat, my wife a republican. The two can coexist. There is simply no way to revive any republican party. In our opinion McCain gave away the election and now his daughter is furthering his efforts by making the liberal circuits trying to water down any conservative influence of the party.

My worry is what you call conservative. Where can I see the names of the senators that comprise SCF?

    Thank you

I will never again give to the republican party! And thrilled to have Senate Conservatives Fund to give to true conservatives because Demint has a record that goes along with his words. BUT I will be watching! to see that they keep to my core beliefs; smaller government, my human worth is given to me by God not man, strong defense,(securing the border and adhere to rule of law conserning illegals). I am a constitional conservative Republican in that order.
