The Difference Between McCain and Obama on Foreign Policy
Written by Sam on August 12th, 2008DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The major candidates for president on Friday called on Russia and Georgia to end their military action and appealed for more diplomatic efforts aimed at avoiding a full-scale war.Republican John McCain said Russia should withdraw its forces. Democrat Barack Obama condemned the violence and urged the two sides to show restraint.
Huh? What was the last part again?
Democrat Barack Obama condemned the violence and urged the two sides to show restraint.
Russia took their military and violently crossed over Georgia’s internationally recognized sovereign borders and began bombing and killing Georgian people on their own soil and Georgia should show restraint? Is this guy for real? His nomination is going to be the biggest joke in political history.

I would like to see his actual quote… no one can be that ridiculous.

Obama is Jimmy Carter Part II.
George W. Bush is trying to be the Republican version of Carter as he has let Georgia be invaded like Carter sat by and let Afghanistan face the same fate.

The Obama camp knows that Americans are ignorant enough to elect this amateur as long as they do not get to know him. Obama has refused extra debates with McCain and limits press accessibility. One day, someone will come along and be who Obama claims he is, but Obama is more old school than the Clintons.

Refused debates? He was in more than 20 debates just to get to this point. If that’s not the most ever it’s got to be pretty close.
Limited press accessibility? You can’t turn on a news channel or pick up a magazine without there being something about him. He’s even on the cover of People for an interview about his family life. Most conservatives complain that there’s too much press coverage of Obama.

Getting press coverage from a fawning press is quite different from answering tough, unscripted questions with candor.
He debated for the Democratic primary because in a wide field he didn’t have as much clout. Now that it’s him vs. McCain, man to man, he has balked at the series of “town hall” forums that the McCain camp has proposed.

There’s an article about how McCain took large portions of his speech about Georgia from the Wikipedia article. Talk about foreign policy expertise.
