Coburn to speak at convention!

Written by Jack Burden on August 21st, 2008

According to Andrew Roth:

I was just told by Coburn’s office that he was invited very early on by McCain to speak at the GOP convention. He wasn’t on the tentative list because of scheduling concerns, but his office said he will probably speak Tuesday night.

Bravo team McCain.

Ah, Mr. Coburn. My own esteemed Senator.

Incidentally, wth happened around here? I’m all lost. The page loaded with the new spiffed-up layout and I thought I must have taken a wrong turn at TNR or something.

    looks nice, tho.

It will be interesting to see what Coburn says. Will he highlight his and McCain’s similarities in fighting earmarks and spending on capital hill or will he warn of the dangers of an Obama presidency?

I read Coburn’s first appeal for McCain in the Wallstreet Journal and wasn’t moved to go out and support the guy, but I’ll be watching nevertheless to see what he has to say.

He says he’s speaking on the dangers overspending and the need for reform in general.
