‘Racism is the Only Reason McCain Might Win’

Written by YellowJacket on August 23rd, 2008

Man, the Left isn’t even kinda-sorta suggesting it anymore… Jacob Weisberg at Slate breaks down why, despite Obama’s far-left politics, mainstream American’s unfamiliarity with him, many Democrats’ hesitance about him, and his slim resume, there is simply no reason other than racism that Sen. John McCain would be able to beat him.

Are they giving up the election already?  Trying to pre-empt the Obama campaign’s obituary and blame any factor or anyone but the Democratic nominee himself?

They cannot accept the fact their ideology is faulty.

Yup, we’re giving up the election already. One obscure author speaks for a party with tens of millions of members.

Wait. I thought of something else. Does anybody else find this insulting? He’s effectively accusing half the country of racism, while failing to address any of the actual concerns about Obama. Does this Weisberg guy think that rhetoric can possibly be helpful to Obama’s cause? If I were Obama’s staff I think I’d fire off a nasty note to this guy, who’s the editor-in-chief of Slate. Sheesh - with friends like that…

Of course it’s insulting, to anyone who has 2 brain cells to rub together.

Limbaugh and a lot of the other conservative talking heads predicted this way back in the beginning of the year, that the Dems would scream racism if Obama lost. It’s no surprise. They’ll never admit that their socialist policies don’t appeal to the majority of voters. It’s either racism or the election was stolen for the third time.

You keep referring to one person’s views as the views of “The Dems” or “The Left”.
