Obama Refers to Palin as a Pig

Written by Sam on September 9th, 2008

LEBANON, Va. — “That’s not change,” Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering.

“You know, you can put lipstick on a pig,” Obama said, “but it’s still a pig.”

The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.”

ABC News

Obama is unraveling.  We are beginning to see the true face of the annointed Messiah as he slowly falls from grace.  Can you imagine if a similar comment had been made about Obama from a Republican, comparing him to a pig?  Can you simply imagine the circular sounding board that would be going on at MSNBC and the New York Times?

McCain said the same thing about Hillary and her healthcare plan. The republicans really know how to pick it battles.

Alright, I know that giving the benefit-of-the-doubt to the Obamessiah might place me in the minority… but do you really think he intentionally called Sarah Palin a pig? Or do you just think he made a poor aphoristic choice?

To think that he intentionally did so means that 1) he’s way stupid, which he isn’t; and 2) he’s a misogynistic asshole, which I doubt he is.

Celtic, I don’t think it really matters.

The point remains, without a TelePrompTer, Sen. Obama just sucks at speaking.

He can use all the BS he wants, but you can tell in this and other recent videos that he is just grasping for straws.

He can’t talk candidly to the American people because it’s not in his nature. He has to talk in general, liberal platitudes.

Honestly, though, what the hell does “Karl Rove” mean nowadays?!? It seems like because he was a smart political operative for a campaign or two, the Dems can’t quit referencing him.

I’m not saying that Rove isn’t a smart guy, or that he shouldn’t have been in our convention or whatnot, but it seems like the Dems are pulling crap out of their you-know-whats.

When Obama says “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig”, it’s offensive, but when McCain says that exact same thing about a plan of Hillary Clinton’s, it’s not offensive?

David, its offensive to Palin because of her comment at the RNC. The reaction of the crowd indicates they thought he was referring to her.

Now do I believe he did it on purpose? No. I believe he was using a wore out political slogan and didn’t realize how it would be taken.

I agree Ryan. I also believe that the McCain camp should’ve just ignored the comment or had Palin come out and take the high road… say something like “I know many of you believe he was referencing me with the lipstick remark but I don’t think he was, so let it go.” The more times that Obama “mis-speaks” the more votes for McCain-Palin. Ever since Palin was announced, the Dems have been back peddling… they have no idea how to win this election. Their biggest problem is obvious to most voters (Dems & Reps)… they chose the wrong candidate!

I agree with those of you who are taking this out to be an unintentional jab to Palin. The way it sounded in the video was that he was simply thinking on his feet and failing. Hasn’t every politician done this?

I don’t like anybody taking things like this too literally; whether republican or democrat. It’s stupid, in my opinion. C’est la vie, right?

Bill O’Reilly, hardly part of the “liberal media”, just said that “For anyone to say that Barack Obama consciously compared Mrs. Palin to a pig is unfair”.
