“We have to do it in the facebook”

Written by Jack Burden on January 7th, 2009

Verbatim quote from RNC Chairman Mike Duncan:

We have to do it in the Facebook, with the Twittering, the different technology that young people are using today.

*Sigh* And people wonder why we’re not effective at using the Internet.

    Sorry. Excuse me.

Haahahhahahaha…. am I the only one immature enough to take that as a dirty joke?

I’m astounded that Duncan would even run for RNC Chair again after the disasters he has presided over.

I am surprised half of the GOP in DC is still there, but you can’t expect power hungry whores just to give up their positions. We’ll have to take their power away from them and even then I doubt they go away quietly.

Why hate on Duncan for being right? His statement may have come off like an old man but he is one. Don’t conservatives respect their elders? I’m not a Duncan supporter but what’ll fix things by dumping on him? Let’s just fix things.

Firstly, he is not right. Facebook and Twitter won’t save the GOP, they are merely tools to communicate with, not an essential strategy for victory.

Secondly, if he were just some guy this wouldn’t be a big deal but he wants to continuing running the RNC and he isn’t very tech savvy as his statement above proves.

This isn’t about respecting your elders or not, it is about being qualified for your job or not and Duncan would seem to be unqualified.

You can’t “just fix things” by ignoring the current personnel problems we have at the RNC, Duncan among them.
