This is a visual representation of just how bi-partisan the Senate GOP caucus has been in the short tenure that is the Obama Rapture. Five Thirty Eight put this together and at the end of it I just have to say the following: there were good reasons to vote against the majority in all seven cases, the fact that only two members of the entire caucus had the stones to do so is a sad testament to the state of the GOP.
So the moral of the story is the GOP can vote in an extremely bi-partisan way and it won’t matter, they will still be the enemy. The media hasn’t given any of the GOP senators like Jon Kyl, Lisa Murkowski and Orin Hatch credit for crossing the line and supporting the president and they will continue to attempt to browbeat the GOP into submission. Jim DeMint is no more hated by the MSM and the left than Lamar Alexander who has cooperated a great deal so far with the Obama administration.
If the GOP and Judd Gregg think they can mitigate the fact that they are Republicans by supporting Obama some of the time they are fools. All that tacking to the left will do is weaken their support among the base and do nothing to bring in supporters from the left. There is no net vote gain from pursuing this folly.
