An interesting thing happened Tuesday night. For the first time in 25 years the people of Albuquerque, New Mexico elected a Republican for mayor. It didn’t end there either. The Republicans also won control of the city council. New Mexico has been a reliably Democrat state for a long time and of course Albuquerque being the big city is the leftist bastion. Are people finally getting fed up with big government socialist politics or was this just an anomaly?
Meanwhile, way on the other side of the country just up in North Carolina a rather strange occurrence took place in Raleigh. Republicans swept the Wake County School Board elections, winning all four seats up for election and giving them a majority for the first time since anyone alive can remember. In addition to that, the Raleigh City Council which is comprised of six Democrats and one Republican just became a little closer to balance as the GOP knocked off an incumbent Democrat up for reelection.
It may mean nothing at all, but it’s food for thought.
Marco Rubio supports illegal immigration!

Let the undocumented masses cross the border. Most of them are just here to work, which is more American than supporting the stimulus.
Is there some sort of nutjob convention somewhere? The boards here have been very quiet all week.
Sorry, I was at Disney World for a week with the family.
I’ll get back to making some noise!
Interesting. I’d rather see the gains that matter..in the 2010 elections, though.
