Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) today asked the Obama administration to investigate what he called “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation” — the actions of climate scientists revealed by the Climategate Files, and the subsequent admissions by the editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).
Senator Inhofe also called for former Vice President Al Gore to be called back to the Senate to testify.
“In Gore’s science fiction movie, every assertion has been rebutted,” Inhofe said. He believes Vice President Gore should defend himself and his movie before Congress.
Just prior to a hearing at 10:00 a.m. EST, Senator Inhofe released a minority staff report from the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, of which he is ranking member. Senator Inhofe is asking the Department of Justice to investigate whether there has been research misconduct or criminal actions by the scientists involved, including Dr. Michael Mann of Pennsylvania State University and Dr. James Hansen of Columbia University and the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Science.
Of course the Obama administration will never conduct any such investigation and I doubt the Senate will engage in any inquiries. Obama is fully invested in global wealth redistribution, which is the real goal of world climate treaties, and he’s not going to allow the revealed lies of a bunch of “scientists” to get in the way.
In the past few months, we’ve come to find that the climate “scientists” have massaged their data, suppressed evidence that contradicts their claims, lied, and most recently withdrew their claims of rising seas and melting Himalayas.
But Lindsey Grahamnesty still thinks Cap and Trade is A-Okay.
Hey,
Can we have them look into the Y2K Bug scam as well while they’re at it?
I’m hesitant to get into another argument about this, but are you really simultaneously accusing climate scientists of hiding data that doesn’t support their theories AND changing their theories to fit new evidence?
“suppressed evidence that contradicts their claims…and most recently withdrew their claims of rising seas and melting Himalayas.”
You realize the nature of the IPCC makes it very difficult to allow for the normal revision that most scientific journal articles undergo regularly, right? On the back of most journals, there’s contact information for people who feel that information within the journal is somehow incorrect. A few type-os (2035 instead of 2350 in the case of the Himalaya data) etc. are really to be expected in a several hundred page document.
And really, cap and trade is a better solution than what looks like is going to happen because of politicians’ (like your friend Senator Inhofe) foot-dragging on the issue. The EPA is likely to begin simply passing laws regarding abatement of greenhouse gases which will cost an order of magnitude or more than cap and trade would in penalty taxes and abatement strategies.
David, I don’t have to accuse them. They have been admitting it themselves.
